Description

In 1928 foundations were cut for a warehouse for Messrs Woolworth on ground immediately east of 'The Red Lion' on Culver Street. The trench for the north wall 48ft from Culver Street exposed part of a wall running E-W consisting of 4-5 courses of Septaria set in yellowish mortar. <1>
