Description

Many Roman cremation burials were found when the Artillery barracks were extended eastwards in 1903-5. As a result of these works, about 100 vessels (apparently only one of which was glass) and a number of other objects found their way from the site into the museum at this time, mainly through the diligence of Dr Henry Laver.<1><2>
