A geophysical survey of part of Abbeyfields was undertaken by Peter Cott on April 5th 1998. This was carried out with a Fluxgate Gradiometer FM18. Eight 20m squares were surveyed. The resulting plot was dominated by the trace of a pipeline running north south along the eastern edge of the survey area. The only other visible feature appears to be a possible ditched enclosure about 18m in diameter, of which the eastern side is fairly clear. There is a suggestion of a rectangular ditched enclosure inside the ring ditch.
