Description

Tall urn of native brown ware with soapy polished surface, rim missing. Iron Age date. Found in the garden of the donor, Mr J. Harper B.A. in St Clare Road. COLEM 1922.4310. Also a number of vessels found in the same garden in 1922-4311 Pedestalled vase of brown ware, polished. Two bowls of similar ware with girth grooves and omphalos under base, remains of a flagon of buff ware, with three-ribbed handle, base beaded, remains of a bronze pail or tankard, the body of which may have been of wood or leather, found with the above. The whole would appear from the mode of entry in the Accessions Book to have formed one group. All given by P.G. Laver COLEM1922.4311-15.<1>
