Description

Fragments of a Roman wall consisting of ten courses of tiles on a rubble foundation, are standing in the cellar of no 34 High Street on its east side. It seems to run E-W and its north face is 9.5ft south of the south building line of the High Street. The remaining brickwork is 2ft high and 2ft 1" wide. The top is 22" below the level of the modern pavement. <1><2>
