Five boreholes were drilled using a machine mounted continuous flight augur. The boreholes were generally extended to a depth of 5.2m with BH 4 being extended up to 6.7m. The site was due for redevelopment as an area of residential housing. The prevailing ground stratas are silty sands with occasional fine and medium gravel. Areas of fill were noted in borehole 1 and 4. Depth of fill was approximately 400mm. No standing ground water table was proved during the investigation.<1>
