Description
Eleven boreholes were drilled as part of a site investigation on the route of the western section of the Colchester Inner Relief Road. The boreholes revealed that at Middleborough made ground overlay alluvium which was underlain by glacial sand and gravel (more probably river terrace!). Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.<1> No map available!
