Description

A total of six? boreholes were drilled on the site of four new? units at the Moler Works, on the Hythe, Colchester. The boreholes revealed made ground overlying alluvial clays/silt which overlay gravel underlain by clay. According to the contractors the lower layer of clay encountered, at approximately 9 metres beneath the surface, did not appear to be London clay. Nothing of archaeological significance noted.<1>
