Description

Eighteen trial holes were excavated on land at The Old Rectory, Hythe Hill. The site had the appearance of a dried river valley but it is thought from the results of the trial holes that this is likely to be the result of quarrying. The trial hole logs revealed the ground to have a varying thickness of topsoil and occasional patches of shallow made ground overlying sand and gravel at heights of between 21.2 and 11.3 m .O.D. No site plan available.<1>
