Description
Eight trial holes were excavated on an area of land earmarked for a housing development scheme. The trial holes were positioned to be clear of the proposed buildings. Beneath the topsoil the strata in the trial holes was found to be almost all sand and gravel although thin bands of clay were encountered in trial hole 5. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted.<1>
