Description
A magnetometer survey of the Civil War Fort at Sheepen was undertaken by Peter Cott with the Colchester Archaeological Trust. The south ditch of the fort was represented by a faint anomaly aligned WNW-ESE , with the Western ditches just visible, aligned NNE-SSW. Roman and Iron Age features were also recorded. A summary of the results is contained within John Mabbitt's MA dissertation.<1>
