Description
A soil survey was carried out for the Borough Architect in order to establish the soil conditions on a proposed housing site on the corner of Winnock/Wimpole Road, Colchester. A house which previously stood on the site had been demolished but its cellars remained to a depth of approximately 2m. The typical soil structure consists of 1.3m of topsoil overlying damp and compact sand.<1>
