Description
A soil investigation was undertaken to ascertain the suitability of the near surface strata to support loads from houses and flats. The proposed development was part of the Dutch Quarter Phase 1 scheme. Two trial holes were excavated for this purpose and 'alluvial fill' (by which it is assumed the engineers mean made-ground) was found extending to depths of between 1.3 and 2.5m.<1>
