Description

In 1927, when laying a gas main, a mass of pink mortar about 4ft wide and 3-6" thick, tapering towards the south was found 2ft 6" below the surface in George Street just opposite the Oddfellows Hall (In the street, close to the kerb on the west, about 10ft from the corner). <1><2>
