Description
A watching brief was undertaken where a hole was dug to locate the water main in Cambridge Road. The modern sewer trench was picked up in the middle of Cambridge Road, but nothing archaeological was observed, however there was a surprising depth of topsoil here, up to 1.9m deep, below the 0.3m capping of tarmac/gravel/brick rubble. <1>
