Description
A watching brief was undertaken at Victoria Place where a 'new structure' was being constructed on a previously vacant site. The contractors cut beam trenches 0.8m deep along the lines of the concrete piles already sunk into the site. Under a crust of modern concrete 0.2m thick, there was only 0.6m of post medieval topsoil and nothing of interest. <1>
