A member of the Colchester Archaeological Trust noticed that major structural repairs were taking place at the house east of 166 Lexden Road. The rear the garden had been surface stripped of weeds, exposing garden topsoil. The west wall of the house was being rebuilt. This appears to have involved some digging for underpinning, but the builders said that nothing unusual was found. They also said that the owner had found some vertebrae in the rear garden. <1>
