Description
A watching brief was undertaken during wall repairs at Balkerne Gardens. The spoil heap contained fragments of oysters, Roman pottery and Post Medieval pottery. In the section in the north of the excavated hole an upper black soil layer and lower brown loamy sand layer was observed with no significant archaeological features or finds. <1>
