Description
A watching brief was undertaken during the removal of concrete slabs from behind 22 Lexden Road in order to create a garden. An exploratory hole dug at the east end of the site showed that the topsoil seals a heavy deposit of olive brown Roman material with fairly common pottery sherds, box tile and tegula fragments.<1>
