Description
A watching brief was held during the digging of a rectangular pit by Anglia Water. The pit measured c.30m by 15m by 5m deep and had a flat bottom. The bottom had been concreted and the sides were battered to an angle of approximately 30%. Much of the sides were obscured and there were no obvious features. Further trenching near the pump house had been backfilled at the time of the first visit except for one trench measuring 1.5m by 0.8m deep. There had been much landscaping in the area.<1>
