A watching brief was held during the groundwork for an extension at the rear of 25 Trinity Street. Trenches for the building footings and drainage had been excavated by the time of the visit and were a maximum of 2.4m deep. The trenches revealed a build up of dark topsoil in the area which overlay the natural sand at a depth of 2.4m. All finds within the topsoil were of post-medieval date including a square brick structure.<1>
