A watching brief was held during the groundwork for redevelopment at the rear of No's 20 -40 Gosbecks Road. Plots for new houses were stripped of topsoil to a depth of 0.3m. At the time of the visit two plots had had footings metalled. Footings were 0.6m wide and typically 1m deep. The surface was obscured by weathering and vehicle trafficking. A ditch was noted but was of indeterminate date. The ditch was c.1.2m deep and 1.3m wide.<1>
