Description
A watching brief was held during the digging of stanchion holes close to the Butt Road site (see ECC432). The holes were situated adjacent to the rear wall of No. 47 Butt Road. An area of dark loamy sand denoted the presence of a possible sand pit extending along the east of the Butt road site in a north - south line approximately 2 or 3m from the wall of No.47 Butt Road and encompassing the area between the wall and the 2 to 3m line.<1>
