Description

Roman remains at site of current CO-OP. The site location is 'Based on the measured sketches of Mr H. Calver, with a few modifications from Mr Poulter's sketch plan, both drawn after the demolition of the Vine Inn and Martin's the fruiterer in 1956. The drawings are in the Colchester & Essex Museum' (not located). Some Pilae and a Roman lead pipe and tank were discovered here.<1>
