Description

During the excavation of a telephone cable trench along the north side of East Hill in February 1967 a north-south foundation was struck opposite the west side of the door of the education office. This consisted of enormous lumps of septaria with little mortar adhering to them. A collection of smaller stones occurred in the same trench 13 feet east of the front gate of Hollytrees may have been another such wall. No good floor levels were observed. <1>
