Description
A watching brief was held during the construction of an office block. The site was visited a total of 16 times but all with negative results. The building was built on piles with some strip foundations. All that was observed was black topsoil visible to a depth of at least 2.5m. "Clearly the building is on the line of the silted valley which runs east-west along the south side of the southern stretch of the town wall".<1>
