Description
A watching brief was maintained during the installation of a 3,000 gallon underground petrol tank in the yard of Anglia Autos. "No datable material was evident in section or spoil heap. With the exception of one feature about one metre deep, any early deposits which may have been present in the area of the yard at the northern end of Arthur Street were stripped away, probably when the yard was formed. The feature appeared to be a pit or east-west ditch; it could not be dated.<1>
