Description

A watching brief was held during the excavation of a road trench along Culver Street West, north of the churchyard of Holy Trinity Church. A possible north-south Roman wall foundation of septaria was observed in the trench against the north side of the boundary wall between Trinity churchyard and Culver Street. The feature was sealed by approximately 0.8m of topsoil and extended to a depth of approximately 1.25m from the street surface. To the west were deposits of gravel and mortar.<1>
