Description

A typed note by A.F. Hall records that a Roman pot was found 'whole' then broken during the construction of a manhole cover on the estate south of Pownall Crescent. Hall suspected that it formed part of a burial although no cremation was observed by the workmen responsible for the find. Hall provides a sketch map of the location, a man hole cover 749ft from the road. <1>
