Description
A watching brief was maintained during redevelopment of the site into a block of eight flats. No significant features were encountered. The foundation trenches along the Wellesley Road frontage had to be cut to a depth of 2.5m because of the presence of a shallow 19th century basement. Elsewhere on the site natural sand was revealed at a depth of 0.5m from ground level.<1>
