Description

A survey was carried out by Richard Shackle in 1990 of 56 North Hill, formerly the Cock & Pie, during renovation. The building was found to consist of a late medieval wing, 17th century wing and Georgian front range.<1> The earliest documentary reference is in the Colchester Borough Alehouse Recognizances Book 1764-1819.
