Description
Visible sections of the Roman town wall were recorded stone-for-stone ahead of a long term programme of repairs. The first stretch was that south of the Balkerne gate and the second, completed in 1989, is that stretch bordering the Priory Street surface car park. The survey utilises photogrammetry as the starting point.<1> Work continued in 1989, including medieval stretches.<2>
