Description
EAST MERSEA EAST ROAD 1. 5214 (Corner of Shop Lane) Weir Farmhouse TM 01 SE 23/26 II 2. C16 or earlier, H-plan. Timber framed now part plastered, brick cased and black weatherboarded. Roofs ridged, gabled and pegtiled. Central chimney, rendered, 2 on right wing. Another chimney stack flanks left wing which is jettied and black weatherboarded. Right (east) wing and hall front cased in Flemish-bonded red brick. West wing has sliding sashes on first and ground storeys with door in right. Hall has central front door of 6 fielded panels, 2 casements on right 2 sliding sashes on left, 2 modern casements on first storey. Two sliding-sashes in east gable. Rear elevations black weatherboarded. (RCHM 4).
