BOXTED CHURCH STREET 1. 5214
TM 03 SW 4/3 Cheshunts II GV 2. House with west elevation of circa 1680 and later additions, including a parallel range at rear, and extensions to both ends. Main (west) range probably timber framed and brick cased. Two storeys with ridged, gabled and peg-tiled roof. One gault brick chimney stack one bay from left and another on right gable. Wide moulded eaves cornice 5 window range of double hung sashes with glazing bars with shutters to first floor. Central door in wide case with pediment, dentilled; leaf glazed upper half with marginal-bars. Matching windows left and right. Addition on right (south) painted brick 2 parallel ranges with low pitched and slated roofs. Windows irregular and mixed types, one red brick chimney stack. Rear range taller and parapetted, faced in gaults with coped gables. East front with central door above 3 stone steps, glazed top with fanlight over, 2 Ionic columns, fluted, as also the 2 pilaster responds. Moulded entablature. Wall treated as 3 blind arcades turned in gauged gault brick. First storey has 3 tripartite sashes. Ground storey has 2 pairs left and right. One bay set back on right, pilastered return.
