Description

COLCHESTER HYTHE HILL TM 0124 NW 10/552 (North Side) GV. No. 106 II House, converted into flats circa late C17, re-modelled and extended in early mid C19 flemish bond red brick front with stuccoed parpet rendered at side and rear. Concrete tile lipped roof. Brick lateral axial and end stacks. L shaped plan. The late C17 front range has cent ral entrance hall and room on either side; behind to left is a long C19 rear wing. 2 Storeys symmetrical 3 windows front, C19 4 pane sashes with stuccoed flat arches with keyblocks and sills, centeral door with pilsters entablature and C19 pannelled door. At rear the wing has 12 pane sashes Interior circa mid C19 open well staircase fitted into curved corner with round headed niche ornate cast iron balustrade and moulded mahogany handrail wreathed over curtail. Late C17 roof structure over front range of joggled framed purlin type with some medieval re-used timber. Listing NGR: TM0142824712
