Description
ALDHAM RECTORY ROAD 1. 5214 Barn to north-east of Hoe Farmhouse TL 92 SW 7/55 II* GV 2. Circa 1500 barn with fine Oak frame on red brick footings clad with black weatherboard. and peg-tiles, midstrey facing north with Victorian low-pitched roof. Of 5 bays without aisles. Main-posts with jowls and wall-studs in one length with wind-bracing trenched into the outer faces. Six studs per bay. Tie-beams cambered and with quadrant-type arch-braces, heavy compressive collars, side-purlin and wind-braces. Threshing-floor of flag stones.
