2. Large square red brick. Mid C18 house of 3 storeys. Built for John Cole, merchant. Parapet, modillioned cornice, painted bands and quoins, 5-window range of double hung sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals and with flat rubbed brick heads. The centre front breaks forward slightly, the centre 3rd storey window has an arched head, the central doorcase has a pediment head with modillioned cornice. The roofs are tiled and have a treble span with 3 hips east and west. Part demolished and 3 storey wing constructed 1971.
