Description
A WWII concrete hexagonal pillbox on the north side of Argents Lane, overlooking the River Colne (to the north). The pillbox is entered through a low entrance from the roadway. It has a 6ft wide hexagonal anti-aircraft machine-gun well in the centre. The mounting pillar, together with its steel fittings, remains extant in the middle of the well.
The structure was adopted onto the Local List by the Local Plan Committee on 24/08/20. A WWII heritage asset and part of the Eastern Command Line across the Colne Valley.
