Description

A WWII searchlight emplacement associated with Gun Emplacement No. 2 (DCC26104, 135m to the west). Re-purposed as a café. The building was adopted onto the Local List by the Local Plan Committee on 24/08/20. An important WWII heritage asset. 4.7-inch gun casemates and their attendant coastal artillery searchlight emplacements are now very rare and there there are only four surviving coastal artillery searchlight emplacements in the county.
