Description

Within Colchester’s historic town centre, there are deep and often well-preserved stratified archaeological deposits, spanning 2000 years. These survive below buildings as well as in open areas within the walled town. Such archaeological deposits are exceptionally rare. The area of the walled town was adopted onto the Local List by the Local Plan Committee on 24/08/20.
