Description
BOXTED CHURCH STREET 1. 5214 Boxted House TL 93 SE 3/80 II 2. 1830 house of 2 storeys in gault brick, 3 bays, roof hipped and slated with lead bonnets. Two gault chimney stacks, wide eaves on paired modillions above moulded string. First floor with stone band and first storey with 3 pairs sashes with glazing bars in concealed boxes under segmental arches. Ground storey has Ionic portico with 2 round columms and 2 square responds, entablature; 2 formerly folding doorleaves. Pairs of tall small-pane casements left and right with segmental arches. Glazed conservatory left of one storey; and a flat roofed stone coped addition of one storey on right. Inside: good moulded and coloured ceiling cornices, panelled reveal shutters.
