Description

DEDHAM HIGH STREET 1. 5214 (north side) House and shop occupied by F R Spearing next to Sherman's TM 0533 26/32 23.6.52 II* GV 2. C17 oak framed and plastered. Refronted in brick in C18. This front is finished with a stone coping. Two storeys and 5 window range with bow window of the Cl8. Left of front door which has a dentilled wooden cornice. Victorian shop front on right. Six panel door under a rectangular fanlight, panelled reveals to the doorcase. Roofs pegtiled. Inside: has panelled room on first floor with circa 1600 inset cupboards - fireplace with moulded plaster arch and jambs and embossed with leaf scroll ornament. Outbuildings in the rear yard of 2 bays and 2 storeys, ridged and gabled roof clad with pegtile; floor joists with diminished haunches. Possibly built as a candle factory. Listing NGR: TM0571333173
