Description
EAST MERSEA EAST ROAD 1. 5214 (Corner of Shop Lane) 'Dog and Pheasant' Public House TM 01 SE 24/3 II 2. C18 cottage, now forming 'The Cottage Bar' of a larger modern building added on the west. This is of 2 bays with red brick Flemish-bonded front wall with dentilled eaves cornice of 3 courses. Roof ridged, gabled and thatched, with 2 gabled and pegtiled dormers. Ground storey with planked door on right under a straight stucco arch that lintels a pair of 3-pane sashes. On the left 2 pairs of horned sashes. Lean-to along rear, with black weatherboards on rear and right end wall. One red brick chimney stack in rear slope of roof. (RCHM 3).
