Description
The following building shall be added:-
PELDON PELDON ROAD TL 91 NE 17/55 Rolls Cottage II House. Circa mid to late C16 with later alterations and C20 extensions. Plastered timber frame, close-studding exposed on west front. Plain tile roof with gabled ends. Brick axial stacks. The 1-room plan south part is all that remains of the original house and has a lateral stack and later outshut at the rear (east). At the north end a C20 2-storey extension and at the south end a C20 single storey extension. 2 storeys and attic original house with close- studded timber frame west front with 4 over 8 pane sash on each floor and C20 bay window to left. The eaves of the C20 extension on the left (north) are higher and the single storey extension on the right (south) end has a flat roof. At the rear the main roof is swept down as catslide over outshut with small gabled dormer above. The outshut is continued to right behind C20 extension. Interior: Close-studding and wall braces exposed. Intersecting chamfered cross and axial beams with cyma stops and unchamfered joists, the beams on posts with moulded brackets or capitals. First floor chamber has chamfered tie beam with run-out stops on jowled posts. Clasped purlin roof structure. Old plank doors. Good C17 plank cupboard door on landing with large inscribed lozenges and simple butterfly hinges and staircase with balustrade of pierced splat balusters, chamfered newels and moulded handrail.
