Description
WIVENHOE COOK'S SHIPYARD 1. 5214 TQ 02 SW 13/53 II 2. Boat building workshops and covered slipway. Late 19th Century. Weatherboarded on timberframe, asbestos sheet roof. Two storeys to shipwright's shop, single storey to slip. Workshops have continuous fenestration to ground floor; five equally spaced windows to jettied floor above. Large loading doors to both storeys with loft entry above in gable end facing fitting-out basin. Queen post truss roof. Surviving example of a small yard for esturial craft.
