Description
The following building shall be added:-
FORDHAM PENLAN HALL LANE TL 92 NW 7/91 OLD TIMBERS II
House. Circa early C16 remodelled circa early C17. Plastered timber frame. Thatched roof with gabled ends. Brick gable end and axial stacks. In-line 3-room plan house with large parlour and solar at left (south) end and open hall with inserted circa early C17 floor and stack at low right and; the putative service end has been demolished and an axial partition has been inserted into the parlour making 2 rooms. 2 storeys and attic. Asymmetrical 4 window east front. C20 2 and 3-light casements, eyebrowed half dormer and 3 window lights inserted between studs at right hand end of front. Projecting brick stack at left (south) end with set-offs and C20 porch at right (north) end. Similar C20 casements at rear (west), C20 French casement at centre and eye- browed half dormer. Interior: Centre room (hall) has large chamfered axial beam and exposed joists of inserted floor and fireplace with large chamfered cambered timber lintel. Hall-parlour partition with rail and studs, infill removed below rail. Parlour has chamfered cross-beam and inserted axial partition with close-studding. Original roof structure with plain chamfered crown-posts, that over hall with 4-way bracing.
