Description
WIVENHOE COLCHESTER ROAD 1. 5214 Barn to north-east of TM 02 SW 13/41 Wivenhoe Lodge II GV 2. The main element of a mid C19 red brick complex of agricultural buildings, the whole forming a group. The. barn is red brick in Flemish-bond, dated 'NCC 1859' on its north gable, it has 2 east facing midstreys - each gabled and with their original great doors. Timber wagon shelter of 4 bays built between the midstreys. Drying vents with fixed wooden louvres - 2 placed between the midstreys. The north range is of one storey with ridged roof, and having 8 3-centred arches on stone capitals, in a range from the west return of the barn. Roofs of pine, slate clad, with collars, tie-beams, valley rafters and purlins.
