Description

WAKES COLNE MIDDLE GREEN l. 5214 Great Loveney Hall TL 83 SE 1/2 II 2. C15-16 house, timber framed, cased in brick and thereby extended. Comprising 3 ranges aligned east-west, with roofs of 3 different heights. The front elevation faces south and has a low single storey unit to the west, a 2 storey one bay unit, and a 2 storey 3 bay block at the east, all contiguous. The east block has ridged and fly-hipped roof and the others have ridged and gabled roofs, all clad with pegtiles. West block has red brick walls in Flemish bond with pilastered corners. Central front door in wide case with gflat hood on consoles. Windows sash hung, hornless, beneath slightly curved gauged brick heads. Three red brick chimney stacks spaced along the ridge. One crosswing survives at the rear on the west end, with hipped end. Listing NGR: TL8971731306
