Full Description
In a letter of Dr. Guyon Griffith to Edward King there is mention of a pavement , consisting of ' rude and coarse tesserae of brick, without any material difference of colour or variety of figure'. Found in the Kitchen Garden of Dr Piggot, physician.<1><2>
Found in 1768, it was re-opened at the south end in 1771 when a stratum of burnt wheat was found.<3>
