Full Description

A Roman town house in Insula 6. The westernmost of three adjacent houses excavated by Henry Laver in 1906 and Sir Mortimer Wheeler in 1920.<1><2> The house consisted of a range of at least seven rooms, most of which opened on a corridor on the west. Four tessellated pavements and two mosaics were recorded. No evidence for the date of the building was recovered but a 1st century date was suggested.

A number of observations made in the area may also relate to this house, please refer to event list.
